Steven D Nickell has always been a storyteller. He wrote a play in middle school and half of a novel in high school. Take that, Paolini. In college he discovered a knack for screenwriting and a passion for making his own films. He spent his youth pursuing a career in the movie business, working first in movie theaters, then behind the camera as a cinematographer, before becoming a producer on low budget features. During that time, he wrote screenplays, sometimes for money and sometimes not. In 2016, he shifted his focus to writing novels. The Treachery of Ravens is his debut work. He is a founding member of the read & critique group the Inkwells, and lives in San Diego, California, with his wife, daughter, two huskies, and a cat named Ziggy.
